I know because the old lenses had some scratches from everyday use. These were brand new. I did buy a new pair of sunglasses with a slightly different lens shape. The power of that is beyond anything we can imagine. Wide reaching effects of an eruption in Yellowstone are just beginning to be understood. With ash shooting up into the stratosphere up to 30 kilometres above the earth surface, ash could be carried across North America and to Europe in a matter of days.
By being there consistently and paying attention, mentors have this incredible power to see what their mentees can’t see themselves. Mentors can notice and bring out what is already there. It reminds me of a time when one of my dearest mentors, Nicole, invited me to speak at the White House right as President Obama was getting ready to leave office.
I then decided to host my own survey, to collect the opinions from the community on topics that I cared about. Last year I had 688 unique respondents.
